Logo Usage

The IATP logo is available only to those actively listed on www.iatp.org.uk.

Listed asbestos training providers may use the logo as they wish, providing the usage does not reflect badly on IATP.

It is recommended that when using the logo, it should be big enough to be able to read the words ‘Independent Asbestos Training Providers’.

If you use the IATP logo on your website, IATP would be grateful if you could create a link back to www.iatp.org.uk.

Decision Making

As the IATP does not have a board of directors or a committee or a chairman, all decisions are made on the basis of majority voting.

There are three levels of majority necessary for various decisions that can be made:

All levels of voting are dependent on all asbestos training providers listed and a majority has to be reached in order for a decision to be passed.  In effect, this means that if there are 100 asbestos training providers listed, 51 of them have to agree to achieve a 50% majority and 76 of them have to agree to achieve a 75% majority.  A 50/50 split, for example does not provide a majority either way so no decision can be reached.

All listed training providers have one vote each and all votes have equal weighting.

Suggestions are made on the forum and discussions take place on the forum as well.  In this way, everyone is fully aware of everything that is going on.

At the end of the discussions a vote takes place and if the appropriate majority is reached then the decision is acted on.  Votes remain active for one week from the call for a vote, after which time the vote is closed and the count at that point forms the result.

Matters requiring at least a 50% majority:
Decisions about payments to the web designer
Decisions about payments for administration
Decisions about excess funds

Matters requiring at least a 75% majority:
Changes to the structure of IATP
Changes to the website and website designer
Changes to the conditions of membership
Changes to the administration of the IATP
Changes to the banking arrangements

Matter requiring 100% majority:
There is only one – that of winding up the IATP.  Individual listed training providers that do not wish to be a part of the IATP are free to leave at any time.  To close the site, every listed member must be in agreement.
