Licensed Asbestos Form (ASB5) and Notifiable Non-Licensed Work (NNLW) form: Down Time 22 July 2020

The ASB5 form and the NNLW form and the databases which support these will be down from 7.00 am until 7.00 pm  on Wednesday 22 July, 2020. This is to allow for the forms and databases to be transferred over onto a new more modern server. It will mean that asbestos licence holders will not be able to notify work during this period, and we will be unable to access the databases either to check that work has been notified, or retrieve individual copies.   I thought you should know in case you get enquiries from any of your members.

If all goes to plan and there are no issues with the changeover, then the systems may be up and running again before 7.00 pm. Moira will be putting out a note on the Asbestos Licensing Information web community to keep licence holders informed, and will also let them know when the system is available again.

SUCCESS FOR IATP AS THEY ARE AWARDED NEW INDUSTRY STANDARD

IATP are trailblazing the way, as they become one of the first training organisations to achieve a new industry standard.

UK based not for profit organisation; Independent Asbestos Training Providers have cause for celebration. The company have recently been awarded Recognised Organisation Status by the Construction Industry Training Board, CITB.

IATP currently offer the most comprehensive, high-calibre list of asbestos training providers in the UK, and additionally, independently audit all providers for that added peace of mind. CITB, the company that bestowed IATP with the new industry recognition, have been working since 1964 to attract and support the development of people within construction. CITB believes in giving individuals the skills to compete for the best jobs and develop fulfilling careers.

Both companies share a vision for raising industry training standards.

This piece of good news will benefit the entirety of the IATP organisation – as now all IATP members can apply to become Approved Training Organisations for our recognised courses, as a complimentary part of their IATP membership, saving the significant sum of £750 per member. It only costs £350 per year at present to be a member of the IATP so you can see the huge benefit.

A company that offers a critical and interactive connection between those providing and those seeking asbestos training in the UK, IATP is truly making leaps forward within the industry. The new recognition also means that their extended network can reap additional benefits; a place on the CITB Construction Training Register, or a place on the CITB Construction Training Directory.

The Construction Industry Training Board is a partner in the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry and as an awarding body CITB has helped 1.3 million people help to pass a vocational qualification and trained 0.5 million apprentices.
