“How far does your message reach?”
On Friday 5th July 2013, the IATP will release 2,374 blue and yellow balloons to raise awareness of Mesothelioma and Asbestos Related Diseases. The number of balloons has been chosen to honour the 2,374* people that lose their battle with Mesothelioma each year in the UK.
Each balloon will be sent off with an individual message and a unique code. We are asking members of the public that find our balloons to contact us and let us know how far your message has traveled.
The IATP is offering individuals and organisations the opportunity to sponsor balloons. Sponsorship is £1 per balloon, minimum order of 10 balloons. Sponsors can also include a personal message on their balloons. There will be a prize for the sponsor of the balloon which has traveled the furthest.
All sponsors will be promoted through social media and the IATP website.
For more information or to sponsor balloons please contact events@iatp.org.
Balloons are sold on a strictly first come first served basis.
Funds raised from this event will go to support DAST, (Derbyshire Asbestos Support Team) IATP’s chosen Charity.
Whilst the IATP are committed to rising awareness of Asbestos, we are aware of the impact any large scale event has on the environment. We aim to keep our impact on the environment as small as possible. For this reason we will be using 100% latex balloons for our Balloon Release, which are bio-degradable. There will be no strings or ribbons attached to any balloons, so wildlife can’t become entangled. Each tag on the balloons will be made of recycled cardboard and secured via a small hole in the top, which will be placed between the body of the balloon and the knot on the neck. We will not be using any plastic values in the balloons.
Did you know that each year more people lose their battle with Mesothelioma than die due to traffic accidents… Fly a balloon.. Help us Make a Difference
