Who we are
This website is operated by Independent Asbestos Training Providers Limited (referred to in this document as ‘IATP’) of Unit 5A Chelston Business Park, Castle Road, Wellington, Somerset TA21 9JQ. We are a membership organisation whose members are listed in a directory on this website.
1. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
1.1 Members information
One of the core benefits of IATP membership is a listing in our public directory of members. We collect and may display publicly the following personal data on our members:
First Name, Last Name, email address, Job title, mobile phone number
We also collect the following business information which may be personal data if the individual is a sole trader:
Landline phone number, business address, Latitude and Longitude of postcode
We collect and process this information on the basis that members have entered into a contract with us. This contracted service includes displaying the above information in our public directory, provided that the member has paid their subscription dues and has submitted to us a valid third party audit of their services.
1.2 Contact form enquiries
If you use our contact form we will collect and use the following personal data in order to respond to your enquiry:
First name, last name, email, phone number
We process this data on the basis that it is in your legitimate interest and ours for us to reply to your enquiry. We do not add enquirers to our newsletter list unless they request to be added.
1.3 Newsletter
If you have signed up to receive our newsletter we will use your email address to send you news of interest relating to the subject of asbestos, and news of IATP activities. We process this data on the basis that you have given your consent for us to send you our newsletter. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
1.4 Website Analytics
We collect data about your visit to our website using Google Analytics cookies in order to analyse and improve our website. We do not correlate this data to the identity of any individual person. You can block the use of cookies in your web browser settings but this may affect some of the functionality of our website. Please view our cookie policy for more information.
2. How we collect your personal data
If you apply to become an IATP member we collect your data using the ‘Join IATP’ form on this website.
If you wish to join our newsletter we will collect your data using the ‘Sign up to our monthly newsletter’ form.
If you send us an enquiry we will collect your data usint the form on our Contact page.
If you visit any page of the website will collect information about your visit using Google Analytics cookies but we will not correlate this to any identifiable personal information.
3. How we process your personal data
If you are an IATP member we will use your data to create your public listing in our directory of training providers. We will also use your data to manage your membership e.g. for sending reminders about membership renewal.
If you filled out our Newsletter form on this website, your details are automatically submitted direct to a secure online database provided by a newsletter campaign management service, currently Mailchimp (mailchimp.com). You may unsubscribe from our newsletter list at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our newsletters, or by contacting info@iatp.org.uk .
If you filled out our contact form, we will use your data to make a response to your enquiry.
4. Your right to view, amend or delete your personal data
You may request us to provide a copy of your data, amend it, or delete it, by contacting us at info@iatp.org.uk .
Newsletter subscribers can also use the links at the bottom of all our newsletters to access and amend your personal data in our newsletter list, or to unsubscribe from our list. Please note that this is a separate set of data to our membership data.

5. Who we share your data with
We never make your data available to any third parties for their own use, other than law enforcement agencies, nor will we ever have received your data from a third party. We only make use of data provided directly to us by you.
6. How long we retain your data
We retain members’ data for as long as you remain a member of IATP. If you cease to be a member we will retain your data for a period of 6 years to comply with HMRC requirements.
If you click the unsubscribe link in one of our newsletters, you will automatically be removed immediately from our mailing list.
7. What rights you have if you are not happy with our use of your data
If you are dissatisfied with our use of your data please inform us in the first instance by contacting us at info@iatp.org.uk. We will cease using it immediately unless required by law or for other overriding legitimate purpose such as pursuing debt collection.
If you are still dissatisfied after contacting us, you have the legal right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office whose details may be found at ico.org.uk
8. Where we send your data
We store members data on secure UK based servers. Backups of this data may be stored in other locations within the EU. Newsletter subscribers’ information will be sent to our email campaign management service whose servers are based in the EU. This may be done via a contractor acting as a Data Processor under our instruction, such as our website provider, IT support provider or a marketing agency.
9. Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We do not have access to or make use of this information.
